Château Recougne
Bordeaux Sauvignon Sémillon

Blend of mostly Merlot with the rest Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc, aged in oak for about a year, deep Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits and an array of spices. On the palate flavors of blackberry and black cherry with spice, tobacco and earthy notes. Medium+ finish, firm tannins, ending with fruit, spice and earthy character.

Fantastic white! I’m not sure what I could even compare it to!! It has a slightly savoury quality, isn’t overly dry, and a fuller body than you might expect. It has a crisp sharpness over the edges, but the middle is long and luscious. It’s a really unusual balance of grapefruit sharp but balanced with a sweetness that allows it to be interesting rather than sour. A bit like you might imagine the white cousin of a red Bordeaux might taste!!
