This is Chateauneuf-du-Pape? What a tremendous wine. Floral, olive, stems, smoke, charred meat, pepper, crushed berries, all took turns throughout the bouquet and palate. Silky yet lifted with ripe fruits and brisk acidity. Driven, bracing, and simply a gorgeous display. Long and haunting on the finish with hints of herbs and inner floral tones.

1 person found it helpfulFeb 14th, 2016Second wine of Chateau Rayas. Unlike anything else I had from the southern Rhone before. Racy, intoxicating, smoked meat. Very pale colour. Spices attacked my palate and didn't let go for a while. So intense! Gamechanger. I want to experience more of this.

Nov 12th, 2015Most didn't love this but I thought it was very pretty. Super floral, subtle red fruit on the palate.

Oct 25th, 2014Without doubt the best Chateauneuf-du-pape I ever had! And this is only the second wine of Chateau Rayas! This 2005 is just perfectly balanced and ready to drink. Very very long finish with red fruit notes and pepper...
