Drink now if you have some, this wine is very rustique and will certainly not improve.

Third bottle from a case picked up cheap because critics didn’t love it. Consistent notes though perhaps this is the best bottle yet. Medium body and depth overall but still cassis with a subtle candied note is strong on the nose, with elements of tobacco leaf and leather. Fine tannins still abundant and acidity firm. This will age for another 10-15 years but this is perhaps not structured to be a 40 year wine.

Elegant and understated. A good Poujeaux, oft maligned

A lean, elegant, structured and long Bordeaux from a great year for most but a somewhat unappreciated year for Poujeaux, which has gone more modern recently. A little foursquare and "generic good Bordeaux" but there is lovely fruit still present, the alcohol is low and acidity ample, the tertiary notes are starting to come through and I find this much nicer than The Critics seem to have found it. Glad I bought a case for a song because of their low rating.

Drinking at its optimum level, real depth of fruit and a long complex savoury finish, easily classed growth standard wish I had a case - should hold its drinking window for the next 10 years.

Something one dimensional about this bottle. A couple others still laying down so we'll see
