2022 vintage, 84% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 6% Cabernet Franc. This 16 hectares Pessac-Léognan vineyard ( 13 ha of red, and 3 of white)was just bought by the Domaines de Moncets group, which is moving to the left bank for the first time, as they already own Moncets and Chambrun in Lalande de Pomerol, La Bastidette in Montagne Saint- Émilion and the Saint-Emilion grand cru La Voûte. It seems that they won't have to start from scratch, given the quality of this 2022, with black cherries, blackberries, and Pessac-Léognan spiciness. Impeccable balance, concentration, purity of fruit, and serious complexity at this price point. Nice licorice finish. Great value, and an estate to watch. Abv. 14,5%.

2019 vintage. Last tasted 5.14.29 (9.2). Nothing noticeably different/morphed from that encounter. 10.17.25.

Oct 17th, 20252019 vintage. Dusty, dirty, plummy nose. Medium/medium-heavy bod. A bit chunky for Pessac and that was perhaps the attraction. Balanced and overt fruit/tannins on the same plate. Seems like it'll hold steady as a bookmark in this spot for another 6-7 years. Curious as to where it rates in two decades but doubt I'll ever find out. 05.14.25.

Intense dark fruit. Full bodied and crisp acidity. Solid young Bordeaux blend. This vintage is for the cellar. Tasted several times, this time was from a week old vacuum sealed bottle.

Sep 27th, 2019Solid Bordeaux blend of 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. Orange, black cherry and sweet nose. Medium to full bodied. Complex, fresh and tense with nice fineness. Young vintage, obviously. Needs a few years to come around. Excelent value.
