Me buying inexpensive Bordeaux that is said to represent great value is like Charlie Brown repeatedly thinking Lucy isn’t going to yank the football away THIS time. A decent Medoc, with classic sharp pungent clay earthiness, and not a hella ripe fruit. A bit austere and quite lean in the mouth. At least it’s not too tannic. Surprising amount of acidity. Overall, Meh.

Christmas Eve starts early in Florida! Enjoying the 72 degree weather (which is considered cold here) outside with some wine and great company. Bordeaux fun time in a bottle. Not complicated, not heavy. The Chateau Peylaby is approachable and ready to drink now. The tanins and the structure demandéd some charcuterie, so we obliged. Not earthy like many Bordeaux’s. This one was balanced with the some mid level fruit notes.
