Jun 15th, 20232020 vintage. The heavy investments by the Lorenzetti family are paying off. The ugly duckling turned into a beautiful swan. Kudos to Vincent Bache-Gabrielsen, Manon Lorenzetti, and team. This impressive 2020 is a blend of 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and equal parts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Classy nose with blackcurrant, cedar wood and lead pencil. In the mouth, it is focused, with succulent layered black fruit, juicy acidity and haute couture tannins. Very long and fresh finish. Amazing value too.

Jun 14th, 2023Barnyard Bomba on open! Beautiful nose of leather, spruce pine, and stewed blackberry. Palate delivers a spicy version of the same, but with a milk chocolate center. Really delightful. Well balanced, medium alcohol, medium acidity, medium plus tannins. This will improve, but awesome now.

Dec 14th, 20212018 vintage. The latest vintage on the market and another impressive step forward for this estate. 64% Cabernet sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit verdot. It combines power and elegance, tastes fresh and energetic and has great length. The best ever made at this estate, of the released vintages i. e., because it is blown away by the fabulous 2020 (score 9.6) that will be an incredible buy "en primeur".

May 29th, 2020Well, I really liked this wine, Bugger what Parker says. The 2016. Small bottle. Soothes my shattered nerves.

2 people found it helpfulSep 2nd, 20202019 vintage. Might be even better than the excellent 2018. A very elegant wine with a lovely nose of ripe black fruit, lead pencil, dark chocolate and flowers. In the mouth it is juicy and energetic with real depth, haute couture tannins and a long mineral finish. Amazing to see what the Lorenzetti family has achieved with this estate in 10 years time. Very impressive and terrific value. Abv. 14%.

1 person found it helpfulMay 3rd, 20222014 vintage. A blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon and 47% Merlot. Before the Lorenzetti family took over, Pédesclaux was a perennial underachiever. They made huge investments to improve the quality and 2014 is maybe the first that lives up to the Grand Cru Classé status. The nose has good Pauillac typicity with cassis, lead pencil and some cedar. Good concentration of dark fruit, ripe and round, with ripe tannin and good fresh mineral length. While it is no match for the 2015, 2016 and especially the 2018 and the spectacular 2020, it is a great effort at a very reasonable price. Tastes good already, but will benefit from further ageing.

1 person found it helpfulMar 23rd, 2021A blend of 48% Cab Sauv, 45% Merlot, 4% Petit Verdot & 3% Cab Franc. Deep Ruby with purple edges. Aromas of red fruits and flinty notes. On the palate of this youthful wine flavors of raspberry, cherry & black currants with hints of tobacco & cacao. Fine tannins, lingering ending with fruit and earthy mineral character. Nice!
