Another 94 that over delivers. Not cheap any longer. $25 on release.

Bright fruit (blueberry, lingonberry) with mild vegetal notes and tannins. Had @Natasha Bray stumped on this one! Hard to tell what vintage it was. Good structure.

1994: The bottle was opened and not decanted, air removed after every glass and drunk over 6.5 hrs. It took about an hour for the funk to dissapear making place for very refined and elegant aromas of blueberries, stone dust, autumn leaves/forrest floor, and chocolate. The wine gained density with time and was beautiful all evening long. The bottle has been kept in very good conditions. For a Burgundy lover this is really lovely juice.

Decanted and drunk over a few hours, this was accessible right away but kept getting better. Full of roasted and spiced ripe red plums, roses, violets and darker coffee, fennel, and licorice notes, the intense flavors were supported by a moderate body, enough acid to provide freshness, and a moderate amount of dusty tannins that are still holding on. There's a lot more fruit here than I'd guess for a 20+ year old Merlot! That and the tannins make me want to check on how much more savoriness develops in 5-10 years. Couldn't have been better last night with steak and friends, though.
