Musty, spicy, plummy nose. Light-bodied. Smooth and delicate rose petal, coffee grounds, plum flavors. Tannins nearly gone. Just crested the top of the hill and on the downhill.

Decanting 2001 for this evening. On the nose cedar box, with anise and black fruit. The palate earthy with soft muted fruit notes, very precise finish, think it will pair well with sous vides buttered filet, roasted cauliflower & bacon béchamel mac & cheese!

2001. Guessed pavie macquin. Can't think of this was the last time 2001 blind vertical winner. Heavy soy sauce nose which fades away only an hour or so in decanter. Toss.

2001. Voted for wotn among other 2001. Shows plum, mint n loads of black fruit on an easy open, very complex and classy nose. Mild palate to drink with no stress. Low tannin. Complete. However fades away within 4 hours is a draw back. Drink.
