Château Pape Clément
Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend
Developed nose of bitter dark chocolate, scorched earth and black olive with some dried fruit, chocolate raisins, charred barrel, hoisin & brown sauces. Some very light blackcurrant fruit coming through, quite dusty.
The palate is resolved, soft tannins lead to an almost creamy smooth mid palate with a touch of blackberry acidity giving some freshness, not showy, lacking in real character.

Tasted October 29 2015.
Perfect cork.
Brilliant, deep red color, ripe cherry ring (seems younger than its 30 years).
Bouquet of mushrooms, underwood, tobacco, ripe red fruits, leather.
Subtle attach, silky tannins, structurated.
Short caudalies, tobacco, blackberries.
IMPRESSION: Beautiful bouquet, pleasant attack, short lived taste.
Large discordance between bouquet and taste. On the decline, bottle opened 5-7 years too late.
