Château Palmer
Margaux Red Bordeaux Blend
Similar to its Margaux brother house '59, if not as great fruit remaining.

Nov 15th, 2014Upper shoulder. Shrunken cork. Wine fail. Maderized. Too bad.

Feb 4th, 2014This had a wee touch of brett that kept it from being the near-perfect wine it was expected to be. But still...the tobacco, dark cherry, wet earth, and even candied spice was all still there. Could have used a longer decant than just a P&P...pretty much sums it up. Co-WOTN.

Dec 27th, 2018Astringent is my first note. I let it open and smell earth...pale in color with brick red edges. Still bright. Still acidic. Not my favorite, but I respect it.

Jan 16th, 2016Unbelievably good. Hard to believe this is 56 years old as it's such a perfect bottle. A stunning nose of leather, dark fruit with real complexity then a brilliant rich and vivid mid palate. It goes on and on and is really as good as Bordeaux gets.

Dec 1st, 2015Amazing how a 56 year old can be in such great shape with no sign of age. Jealous.

Dec 1st, 2015Drinking so well. Red fruits, leather, dried herbs, cedar. Lots of color still. Freshness, tannins present, beautiful acidity. Really solid.
