Tasted blind. Deep tawny color. Heavy nose with lots of drama going on. Notes of old wet cedar desk, red fruits, pepper, mocha, dark moist earth and some spice. Great structure. Has a perfect balance of fruit that strongly remains in the picture with structure and acidity. Silky, coats the mouth. Might have been the WOTN until the next bottle was poured.

2nd bottle was the wine of the night, impeccably stored, still intense dark berry fruit intensity, outstanding.

Big and bold in the mouth. Amazing perfume late into the evening. Boyz guessed 82 Bordeaux. The other WOTN for some. (Bday dinner 10/13)

Mar 7th, 2017Really interesting, not too often are the '50's still showing unless they've been stored correctly, this was quite high toned & elegant, not much fruit to speak of, but the aromatics well & truly made up for it.

There are times when I am completely surprised by a wine. Low fill, destroyed capsule but the best bottle of Mouton that I have had pre 1982. This wine was singing.
