Château Meyney
Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend
A terrifically balanced and elegant at a good price if you can still find it.

Jun 3rd, 2017Short decant. Maroon color. Nose of cigarettes, rust, and cherries. Wine has a nice texture that fades over time. Minimal fruit and medium minus depth. Probably slightly over the hill. Medium minus finish. Decent wine for the price.

Nov 19th, 2021We did a fun Bordeaux-comparison with steak night on Friday. At first this wine was closed down--it showed almost zero aroma, and he palate was dense but didn't show much. 3 hours later it opened up to show some ripe red plum, cassis, and minerally earth, but it didn't seem complete. With plenty of tannins and acid, I'd check again in 5 or 10 years.
