Château Mazeris-Bellevue
Canon-Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend

2015 vintage. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. If you are looking for blockbusters this might not be your thing. I used to think of Fronsac as very rustic wines that often lacked charm, but these days many fine wines can be found here. This one is all about elegance and gentle extraction. Ripe cassis and flowers in the nose. Gentle and effortless in the mouth, elegant and fresh with good spicy minty length. Lovely. Abv. 13,5 %.

Feb 11th, 2021Decent entry level Bordeaux - good fruit in front pallet but little to no finish at all. If it's a Tuesday night and your having a burger go ahead and pop this...but realize the burger will be the showpiece!

Blend of Merlot (70%), Cabernet Franc (15%), Cabernet Sauvignon (14%) and Malbec (1%). Medium ruby core that turns more garnet closer to the rim. Aromas of ripe red and black fruit with hints of tar and roasted coffee. Flavors of red cherry, raspberry, black currant, figs, and mocha. Just a touch of baking spices on the long finish. Satiny texture and very fine tannins. Medium bodied and very soft. Good example of where proper aging can benefit a wine. Solid. Thanks for sharing, Chris B.

Feb 12th, 2017I had it with a home-grilled surf and turf on a really hot and humid day. Bone-in strip, steamed clams and rice. It wasn't too overpowering but it didn't get lost.

Plenty of tannins, but will the fruit keep up over time?
