Château Mayne Guyon
Blaye Red Bordeaux Blend
2014 opened Nov 2017.. Cassis and sea salt on the nose. I taste the alcohol, but not much else on the front of the palate. Astringent tannic structure. It's been breathing an hour, but it's not opening up. Not horrible but far from wonderful.

Sep 5th, 2017Wasn't a huge fan for the first 10 minutes or so. Although the nose is big with black cherry, the earthiness was very pronounced. As I let it sit for a while it started to mellow out and became very juicy. I feel like I want a nice fat steak with this now! I'm gonna let it breathe for an hour and see if anything new shows up. Im thinking it's going to be beautiful by then.

Jul 9th, 20162014 vintage. Smoke, herb, grilled meats and cedar on the nose. Cocoa powder, dust and milk chocolate on a medium length, uncomplicated finish. Decent bang for the buck. A cheap chicken < $10. I'd buy again as a house/party Bordeaux.
