Graphite, cassis, blood/iodine flavors, dense and chewy. Bdx for the long haul. Well made and evocative, if a touch burly.

This wine is bold and fruity and fantastic. We tried it as a give from Ben and Mary (neighbors).

2014 vintage drinking great now. Dark fruits. Earthy, smooth tannins.

Deep Ruby color

Pronounced aromas of black cherry. black currant, slate, graphite, black plum, mint with secondary aromas of cedar, smoke, vanilla, and tertiary aromas of leather and tobacco.
Dry, high acidity, high tannins, medium alcohol, medium (+) body, long finish.
Pronounced flavors. Primary flavors of black currant, black plum, red and black cherry, graphite with secondary flavors of cedar and tertiary flavors of leather and tobacco.

This is an outstanding wine.

Can drink now, but has potential for further ageing.

I'm like the new guy on the block with a 2014 vintage. Nice dark color with floral nose and deep dark berry flavor. Pretty smooth, easy tannins. Will have to find some more and let it sit for awhile.

Young but legal. This youthful wine showed well with an hour in crystal. The 50% merlot, 40% Cab, 8% cab franc, and 2% Petit Verdot assembled nicely for a musk and vibrant wine. Not the most complex but shows what this classic vintage has in store.

Wife and I have been locked down for awhile now, so decided to pull out some Bordeaux. We’ll start with some young ones, then raid the cellar for some gems. First wine of the week. This St Estephe is in a good place now. The 2014 vintage is one of the better wines from this estate - the tannins have mellowed. Bouquet of dark fruit, cassis, and pencil. Lots of graphite and cassis is evident on the palate. Mouthfeel is smooth. Good wine - not as concentrated as the more well known St Estephe’s but much more approachable at 6 years old. 2014 vintage on April 17, 2020

Hearty wine with earthy, minerals, and dark chocolate. More muted dark fruit for me. Good balance of acid and tannins.

Too young to consume. Still fruity and sweet up front. This might be good in 10 years.
