Amazing Merlot from Bergerac. Lighter than expected. All about purity and freshness

Robe noire
Nez de terre humide et de fruit noire
Bouche ample aux tanins rustiques
Notes peu gracieuse de réduction facon mourvedre
Pas mon style et grande variabilité entre les bouteilles👎

Vin en phase de fermeture avec une volatile marquée
Une très belle matière sous jacente
Une fraîcheur présente malgré la densité de matière mais petite pollution au nez.
Je l ai dégusté meilleur

Old vines merlot from Bergerac. Superb. Extremely minerally. Good acids. Hard to assess age ability but suspect quite good albeit not a pomerol replacement.

Big licorice, candied fruit, bright spices. Flavor is cleaner than other reds (no brett here), with a grafite mineral intensity, but the finish is filled with cooked fruit and yeasty lees richness. A benchmark of everything wrong with big, natural wine reds.
