This is what I drink when I have a craving for merlot | Amazing texture and juiciness | 2012 Château Lestignac 'Racigas' from Camille & Mathias Marquet, a young vigneron-couple who own 13 ha in the Bergerac appellation

Jul 22nd, 2016Robe noire

Jan 23rd, 2018Old vines merlot from Bergerac. Superb. Extremely minerally. Good acids. Hard to assess age ability but suspect quite good albeit not a pomerol replacement.

Jun 1st, 2014Big licorice, candied fruit, bright spices. Flavor is cleaner than other reds (no brett here), with a grafite mineral intensity, but the finish is filled with cooked fruit and yeasty lees richness. A benchmark of everything wrong with big, natural wine reds.
