2019 vintage. A small 7 hectares estate with vineyards bought from Palmer and Durfort Vivens in 1928. Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), Merlot (40%) and Petit Verdot. Dark red, with orange rim. Cassis, blackberries and violet, the latter becoming more pronounced after an hour. A smooth, elegant Margaux with silky tannins and good length that doesn't break the bank. Abv. 13%.

This needs a couple of hours to breathe, but it’s wonderful.

Excellent offering by the glass - petite and precise. A light but determined Bordeaux. I love this wine's sense of presence. It knows what it is and it does it well. Graphite nose, the palette starts with an off-sour attack of blue fruit but mid palette is soft. Finish is medium but the tannins are so fine they're almost liquid. A value Margaux that incorporates the subtleties and depth of much higher priced offerings.
