Very nicely aged. Beautiful brown-ish aged rim. Lovely nose which still included some freshness even after all these years. Really lovely aged St Jules

1981 Vintage, not much grape left

Earthy. It opened up and the fruit was revealed over time

Well, this is no spring chicken but it goes mighty well with it (roast chicken, that is). This bottle was a very good one, better than some of the 82s we have had. No brown edges, just tottering along gently into ripe old age.

Consolation for last night's petite sirah. Drying out a bit but very savory nonetheless. 12% abv. Up yours, Parker!

Elegant. Can taste the terroir; still decent fruit. Some nice wines from 1981!
