Commanderie de Bordeaux. Theme was BBQ and 2010 vintage. Fantastic event. My contribution tonight. Wine maker described it perfectly... “burgundy in the middle of Bordeaux”. Extremely floral nose, no sulfites (family was too cheap to buy it a few generations ago and kept with the trend), 85% merlot 15% Cabernet. Extremely smooth. Can’t wait to see how this wine evolves.

My first cult rosé. Hefty from all perspectives: eye, nose and palate. Flourishing, strawberry, cherry, some cinnamon and pepper as well. On the palate it drinks more like a light red than a rosé with lots of ripe strawberries and maraschino cherries but good acidic balance and even some tannins with a licorice finish. Even needed a good hr to open up. Pleasant mind bender for sure. Cheers.
