A few years younger than the vintage last night. Similar dirt, forest floor, mushroom and dark red fruit with a hint of smoke.

Complex nose with black fruit, wet forest floor, graphite and crushed slate. Complexity carries through the palate, however finish borderline flat.

Impressive at 27 years. Still youthful and full of structure.

Unfortunately this wine was nothing more than aged balsamic... I was with Denis Malbec when we opened this wine... His father was the cellar master at CL then he was before moving to Napa... He thought the wine was a fake (sheen on the label). I agreed. Total bummer but the other vintages we opened were awesome!!

Grandfather theory comes into play here again. Much respect, but not in the best condition. Very interesting though
