This is a beautiful wine because of its restraint. All those words about tobacco or pencil shavings aren’t wrong, but they fail to capture the way those flavors ride under the beauty of the fruit, enhancing and not overpowering. We had the 2012 in 2023: it still needed time to open up. Beautiful stuff.
