Dec 20th, 2015After inviting a friend to join a botched BBQ with overcooked leathery steak & green Santenay, he reciprocated in good form by inviting me to a dinner party done right: serving steak tartar--no overcooking--and Gevrey-Chambertin so sublime it seemed to disappear. This Bordeaux made a nice showing as apéritif. Subtle bouquet of dark cherries, plum, dry leaves, earth & smoke. Smooth palate of cherries, a hint of plum & a pleasant touch of chocolate. ...Merci, Alain! Great plates, wine, company & ambiance! :)
