36 year old #bordeaux - Color was surprisingly vibrant, deep crimson core fading to dark ruby edges - only slight bricking. Aroma remained reticent even after an hour, ghostly black/red fruit, slight toffee, sweet tobacco. Palate was similarly subdued. This Côtes de Blaye was clearly past peak.
