Beautiful plum color with hints of ripe berry on the nose. Smooth tannins and light, Maybe not as complex as we were expecting. Nice drinking wine.

Beautiful pale purple with garnet, slightly orange rim; immediately upon opening a bit of dirt and red fruit, some smoke and browned meat; bright red fruit in palate; med acid, some warmth of alcohol, especially on aftertaste; finish is short to medium length with taste of prune and black olives. Clean and bright, but alcohol muted the finish a bit.

Cherry and pepper up front, with hints of peach and citrus on the finish. Silky smooth. Just picked up at Costco for $30. It's pleasant, and well-rounded. Not knocking my socks off. Here's my issue with this wine. The initial flavors immediately brought to mind Trader Joe's Pontificis. It's not that much better than the Pontificis and that is a total steal for $7. This is a no-brainer. Go for the Pontificis every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
