Tasted blind. Dark red color. Fruit-forward nose with notes of black currants, violets, herbs, pipe tobacco, minerals and gravel and soil. Some menthol comes on later, as does a little brett thing (but only slightly). Rich and massive in the mouth. Flamboyant and powerful. Seems like it's fortified, as it really packs a wallop. Pretty awesome to put this up side by side with the 61 HB and compare. Both are all time greats, with the 61 HB a little better tonight given the slight bretty note that hangs around in the La Mish. (M's 60th bday 10th of 14)

May 23rd, 2021A great wine that stands the time and evolves like a mastepiece. Aromas and palate are a perfectly mature pessac but on a table was outshown by wines that cost maybe 1/40 of the price
