Medium garnet core , with medium light garnet rim . Slightly more spicy nose , some light cassis and a herbaceous, almost meaty touch. On the palate more light bodied than the 2006 , lighter but with rustic tannin and fresh acidity . Lighter , spicy red fruits , red currant , cranberry , with quite a herbaceous tinge . Quite short finish . Drink now , the weakest of all vintages in this tasting .

Perfect timing for this classic Haut Médoc which doesn’t need much more cellaring - if any -, and minimal decanting. Classy yet user friendly, and delicious.

Nice acid, integrated and smooth tannins. Although not the best vintage of Bordeaux, this is a very charming bottle of wine.

Fantastically dry with nice tannins, really opened up throughout dinner as the bottle got more air.
