Medium Ruby color with aromas of red fruits, floral and earthy spice notes. On the palate flavors of cherry and blackberry with notes of cacao and mushroom. Firm grippy tannins, tart acidity, medium finish, ending with fruit, spice and earthy notes. Not sure if more time in bottle will benefit.

Needs to breath, smooth and velvety. Touch of pepper, but very faint against the deep cherry notes.

It's time for some Merlot on this #MerlotThursday.

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

On the nose red cherries, plums, light oak, spices, dark coffee and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.

Dry on the palate with cherries, raspberries, spices, light oak, black tea, licorice, earth, light vegetables and peppercorn.

Short finish with grippy tannins and tangy cranberries.

This is a nice everyday wine from Bordeaux. Showing mostly red fruits with earth notes.

Still very young and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.

Good by itself and better with food.

Needs a few hours to open up properly, and will be better in 3 to 5 years.

A blend of 68% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Cabernet Franc. Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

88 points.

$18.

Right bank stuff. Mineral black fruits. Great value.

Dark fruit on the pallet - pretty smooth. Enjoyed with steak and potato.

6 French regions tasting on a budget. Middle placed by most some 5th votes. Boring standout but a fine wine

Tastes like a perfectly fine Boudreaux! Just nothing exciting or new about it.

Purchased at Whole Foods, ~$17. Good Bordeaux, we liked, but it’s not particularly complex.
