Extremely fresh and almost black in color. Was a touch ripe for me but that's being a little overly critical.

2018 is a beaut and drinkable today but positioned for the long game. Fun, spry and lively. Balanced with softer tannins that will last. The taste is multilayered. Berries both dark and light. Not fully ripened cherry, blueberry with perfume and floral scents. Nice minerality and graphite edges. Luv this wine! Wait 2-3 more years before another pop.

Wonderfully alive and showing some nice dark fruit, mint and touch of menthol. Pretty remarkable. Such a joy to taste these old bottles that have been cared for.

Mid-shoulder fill. The bouquet reminds me a lot of dark chocolate, and perhaps coffee. Some traces of oxidation but not overly so. The palate is very floral, with lots of red cherry and cranberry notes.

Nice peppery flat red fruits aroma. Ageing very evident. Almost honeyed colour (red/orange/brown) Sweet (sticky?) smell. The sensation of slight sweetness in the flavour and red fruits mostly plum? Good tannin at top of palate. This is the oldest wine I've tried at 1953; a very special tasting.

1955 deep dark color, red berry fruit, pencil shaving, thyme and bell pepper, with nice acid. Lovely fruit and supple tannins in the mouth.
