Not many Lebanese wines come across this palette.

This smells like crushed cherry skins, black olives.
A solid medium bodied wine,
Following through with the smells, add some hazelnut, cola, balsamic, pomegranate, finishing with zingy acidity, and peppery tannins.

2016 vintage. Back label states Syrah and Marselan, website says also Cabernet Franc, so not sure about the Cabernet Franc. Altitude 100 meters. Named after the first Kefraya wine (1979), this is a highly seductive wine, with ripe slightly jammy black cherries and spices, more Southern than Northern Rhône Syrah in style. What it lacks in complexity it makes up in charm. Great value at less than 13 euro.

Present tannins but soft and full-bodied. Notes of tart cherry, pomegranate, and black currant. Definitely has an earthiness and mild spice.

Nice surprise in our Lebanese Taverna dinner. Quite a nice blend. May pick some more up next time I’m at the LT Market.

A full bodied red blend (Cabernet France, Syrah, Cinsault, etc.), which held up to the Middle Eastern spices. An excellent bottle for under $20!

It’s no Musar but this is a nice wine from the Bekaa Valley. Mix of Syrah, Marselan, Cinsault, etc. Deep red in the glass. Well balanced, tannins a bit chewy and the oak pokes the slightest bit. But good purple fruit and a nice finish with decent acid. Good pairing with food at Zahav in Philly.
