Drank 4/13/22
This wine wad every advantage, but couldn't quite get there.
Medium rare ribeye? Check.
Zalto Bordeaux glass? Check.
Nose ok with plum, blackberry, earth, and pepper. The palate falls a bit flat with earth, tar, and sanguine notes, but only a hint of black fruit. Finish is medium with medium plus tannins.
3/19/7/4/3 +50 = 86 pts.
Not bad, but in the end, there's simply not enough here for the vintage.
WA went 93 on this one. I can't see it.

Apr 14th, 2023One of the most unusual wines I’ve had in a while: dark purple w/ruby hues, it was so funky & barnyard that I decanted it then put it away. Revisit 2nd night and it was just so earthy, musky, wet raincoat, manure, just so odd. Swirled & hoped then put away. 3rd night it came around, still earthy & funky but finally showed black fruit, cedar, hi-tones, spice but also tons of freshly dug soil. Palate was thinner than expected and finish was uneven. Head scratcher
