Château Jas de Bressy
Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blanc

Beautiful Châteauneuf du Pape. Lovely golden color, with rich oily legs. Aromas of pears, green apple, and almonds. Oaky, vanilla, and creamy burnt sugar flavors. It’s excellent!

Lovely white Rhône. Full bodied but not too much passion fruit / sweet tropical fruits

Just a big jammy fruit bomb... think cheap American Syrah... quite disappointing actually. There is no finesse with this, just brutish dark thick syrupy fruit.......ok, did improve over time becoming more balanced and nuanced... but still very extracted and sweet.

Feb 10th, 2021Enjoyed with a light lunch of halibut and completely wine-unfriendly vegetables (artichokes AND asparagus) and it held up nicely. Acidity made it food friendly, body and honey notes gave it enough heft to deal with sweetness/vegetal notes from murderous vegetables.
