Château Haut-Plantey
Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Red Bordeaux Blend
Dark plummy fruit. Lovely balance and intensity. Still young and quite blue and iron like. Young but excellent.

Dec 27th, 2021A good example of those “good value for money” Bordeaux whose name is unjustly eclipsed by more famous brands (or, sadly, lesser quality wines). This deserves ample time in a decanter before tasting. Classic and classy Saint Emilion is the reward.

Jan 11th, 2020Had my last bottle of this wonderful wine with a wild caught venison ragu and fresh made Italian pasta. The wine balanced the fruit and spices perfectly with this ragu, just an exquisite meal for the fall.

Oct 26th, 2019Big WOW! I tasted this wine in September 2018 at the event held by the French embassy at Central World in Bangkok, Thailand; the wine did not impress my tounge at all. However, I bought 2 bottles because a friend of mine imported it. Today (Jan 18, 2019), the wine tasted very delucious after 30 minutes of breathing. Very flavorfull of cherry, blackberry, plum, and tobacco together with soft tannins and silky & reasonable length on the finish. The color is intense but bright ruby red color with medium-to-full-weight which is goes well with medium & sexy acidity. Very good value, excellent balanced, and savory wine to pair well with medium spicy Thai dishes.

Jan 18th, 2019This 2005 vintage is incredible it has a very long aftertaste of plums with a little spicy flavours.
Had this with brussel sprouts and summer squash from the garden, the fillet of steak was cooked to medium rare and topped with melted Stilton.

Drinking well now, but could still use at least a couple years.

Dec 15th, 2017Plum, dark cherry, a hint of violet. Lovely supple fruit with nicely judged ripeness. Quite cold-blooded and noticeable tannins on the finish. Could do with a bit of time
