Second label that would be a crowd pleaser.

Doing a little Cali/BDX comparison and this is definitely holding its own. Wonderfully earthy, fine tannins, baked cherry and raspberry fruit, some fun floral stuff, silky.......Lucky day!

Very attractively color. A classic nose with a great combination of primary and secondary notes. The palate was balanced with some structure. This wine is lively and drinking very well now with med + complexity and med length. #chateaugruaudlarose #bordeaux #saintjulien #cabernetsauvignon #ctbucklinwine

£99 Magnum that RP said "one of the most disappointing St.-Juliens I tasted 84pts" well I think he should retry the great numpty 😜 Still could do w/ 2-5yrs 👍 Great nose but palate still a little tight

🍇 63% Cab S, 25% Mer, 9% Cab F & 3% Pet V

🍷 Opaque ruby

👃 Smokey oaky earthy farmyard through shy blackcurrant & spiced plum w/ minerals, leather, musky cellar & wet leaves - fab nose 👍

👄 Med earthy mocha blackcurrant body w/ dry tannins & touch of tart cherry

🎯 Med dry earthy blackcurrant finish

Needs an hour open. Still has good fruit but balanced, delicate and not too heavy. Versatile and plays well with a variety of dishes which made it perfect for dinner with the family.

2006 plenty of body better after a little breather not the big noise I have noted before with Gruaud Larose but good complex Bordeaux I acknowledge St Julian has its critics but this good wine

A great wine, worthy of its rank as a 2nd grand cru classé. Dark ruby colour, 55% cabernet sauvignon , 35% merlot, 5% cabernet franc and 5% petit verdot. Fruity, hint of coffee, caramel finish.

This was a very classic example of St Julien but with decanting time was an excellent wine. Very British claret in character with cedar complementing the dark fruits with truffle. Slightly tannic and four square but very satisfying.
