Cuvée Renaissance Viognier

Interesting, has some characteristics of Viognier, but I'm not really too sure if it's a wine that has ever really deserved the recognition it's received.

Love this unique wine. Paired beautifully with the first plates of our meal at The Square.

Very interesting, but old. Cellar mushrooms, hay, smoke. Interesting, but not good.

Very pretty. Simple, but excellent.

Good, but past its peak. Honey, cereal, flint, smoke, wool, butter cream, but almost no fruit. Some stone fruit if I had to pick one.

Got some dregs. Still had something to say, which is the point here, it seems.

Dried figs and persimmon, some white flowers but not as much as I would have expected from a Condrieu in a good way. Cotton candy. Light/medium body and acidity. Would be interested to try this in 5-10 more years.

Rich texture on the palate. Baking spice, tropical fruit and a long finish.

Simple yes. Beautiful age which frames the homyed apricot. The florals are somewhat gone, but a touch of dried to decaying white flower still there and says, "I'm From the northern Rhone!"
