Chateau Grand Barrail Lamarzelle Figeac
Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend
Was expecting to be barefoot after trying this wine given all the high ratings. But still wearing my socks. Very nice wine; dark fruits up front with a bit of leather. More full than mid body, but smooth tannins. Went well with the lamb.

The 2008 vintage of Chateau Barrail is an Appelation Saint Emilion Grand Cru from Bordeaux. Ruby red and 13% ABV this wine is complex and well-balanced. This wine is vinified in an Old world style and prominently features well balanced red fruit, earthy notes, medium plus tannins and smooth acidity. After 7 years this wine is showing well integrated and promises several more years of aging. Prominent red and black berry, clove and anise, with a long finish and persistence of dark chocolate, cherry and baking spice. This wine is a perfect companion with BBQ beef tenderloin skewers with roasted tomato and veggies. Enjoy 2015-2025.
