Huge nose of dark cherry liqueur, flowers and pencil lead. A finish that takes a while to unwind. Needs a well-marbled Delmonico to chase.

May 14th, 2023Drinking the 2016 in 2022. Deep dark ruby color. Nose is rich with cherry, current with a lightly earthy undertone. Very big flavors. Cherry, current, cassis, and deep dark fruit. Dense deep flavor with an earthy finish. Fruit flavor is very ripe. Medium tannins. Very nice wine.

Sep 12th, 2022Phenomenal Bordeaux. Great depth of evolving layers of currant, cassis, dark cherry and ..oh so well integrated tannins. Smooth and extremely well balanced. Bernard told us that St Estephe is the feminine side of Pauillac while Saint Julien is the masculine side. This wine supports that notion. Paired extremely well with bbq copper river salmon from Alaska.

Jan 2nd, 2018The driest of the dry tannin wine from left bank, south of the Gironde, Bordeaux: Saint Estephe. What is it with these wines from this region? Narrow, yet so succulently rich. Deep dry dark mineral fruit that puts you in a spell .... a thirst for more...but there isn't more.....Had to share it with my wife.
