Tonight's wine I have opened is the 2019 Château Gassier Esprit Gassier Rosé, Coté de Provence. A blend of 40% Genache, 31% Syrah, 12% Censault, 6% Semillon, 5% Rolle and splashes of Cabernet Sauvignon, Carignan, Mourvèdre, Tibouren and Clariette.

On the nose there is strawberry, raspberry, orange, peach, citrus, red currants and minerality.

On the palate there is strawberry, raspberry, peach, citrus notes, spice and good minerals.

This is a medium bodied wine with a smooth mouthfeel and medium + acidity that moves right into a long crisp citrus mineral driven finish. We are two days from Christmas and wishing all the best. May everyone have a wonderful and joyous holiday. Please be safe and healthy. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

This lively, finely detailed Rosé offers fresh strawberry, peach and jasmine flavors, along with subtle floral and herb nuances. Silky and energetic in style, it shows seamless texture and real energy on the finish. The 2018 is simply impossible to resist. $22.00 (Josh Raynolds, Vinous, August 2019)

Typical Provence rose with summer berries and mineral nose which follows on the palate. Paired well and tamed the grilled firecracker salmon.

This is awesome. Tons of strawberry and peach on the nose with the little bit of herb. I was worried that the palate would be overly sweet, but it is absolutely not. Beautifully balanced. Probably my favorite rose so far

Why are the French so good at Rose? Light, refreshing and crisp with great balance. A fantastic way to end the summer!
