Château Fort-Lignac
Haut-Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend
Unfortunately was corked. Not totally ruined but def had bizarre finish. Fruit held on thought. Still impressed.

Dec 24th, 2014Dark ruby hue. Aromas of blackberry, cherry, chocolate, licorice, mint, pepper, tar, and vanilla. Full-bodied, with smooth tannins and high acidity. Lengthy, earthy finish. Bonus points for QPR. Bordeaux Left Bank blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (70%), Merlot (25%), and Cabernet Franc (5%).

Apr 7th, 2022This is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. Knowing that, I would have expected to be more jazzed by this wine. But, for me, it falls flat. Looks pretty in the glass... sort of a dark burgundy with slight amber hues. The aroma sends out more earthiness than fruitiness. Hints of mint and stone and nutmeg and maybe underripe plums? Rolling it on the tongue is quite disappointing. No beauty to the feel of it. It kind of suggests moldy oranges with its dry acidity. Note to self: do not purchase!

Mar 6th, 2021Deep Purple and dense wine. Very aromatic and rich: wood, flowers but also leather and spices. Some smoked stuff sensation. So it’s generous in alcohol and quite acid. A long persistence. Very harmonious
