Château Fleur Cardinale
Grand Cru Classé Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend

Drank 4/12/20. Excellent with lamb chops and a red wine sauce.
Plum sauce, blackberry, raspberry, spearmint, soil, and a bit of petrol are easily coaxed from the glass. Flavors of plum sauce, raspberry coulis, tobacco, and mint are backed by medium + well integrated tannin. Drink now and over the next 5-10 years.
4/22/9/5/4 +50 = 94 pts.

This bottle caught me off guard. I can’t believe this is so merlot dominant with so little CS. It appeared to me the opposite in % use.

If tasted blind I’d think it was a top echelon Napa cab.... big fruit with balanced tannins and long finish

Always a great quality Chateau & this top year @ £40 - Drinking well now but having had these before it will sing in 6-7yrs 👍 90 going 94-95 with age
🍇 70 % Mer, 15 % Cab F & 15% Cab S
🍷 Opaque ruby
👃 Heady slight sweet mashed violet infused deep dark plum, black berries, melted milk chocolate, earthy minerals & soft smoked oak
👄 Med++ body of ripe rich creamy blackcurrant & dark plum w/ a touch of cocoa
🎯 Med+ dark fruit & rich cocoa mineral infused teeth stainer 😁 w/ a touch of dryness

Decant this! Not much initial nose. Opens up after an hour and smells like a bowl of berries. Tannins already fairly smooth, and decently long finish. Should go at least another 5+'years but I would drink now for the fruit. Quite good.
