Lovely st emillion structure but not a lot of complexity or depth. Fairly simple and quiet

Heady aromas of scorched earth, smoke and charred red meat, chocolate, black currants, pepper, violets, coffee, and brimstone. Continues on the palate, with a viscous mouthfeel akin to witches' milk and rich dark flavors wound tightly around a green stem of licorice and burnt soil. A volcanic masterpiece of apocalyptic proportions! Truly he'll on earth in a glass. Thick as blood. This one stomps a mudhole in your ass, come from straight out the swamp. Only this swamp was napalmed in the best of ways. Flowers on a fresh, hot grave!

Great body and finish, but lacks complexity. The depth just isn't there like I was hoping. Frutti di Bosco, leather, black currant, fresh cut grass. It's almost there.

I think this is at the stage where it's as good as it's going to get. Fruit, tannin, earthy balance is at its best now for this vintage which wasn't terrific. Dried red flowers, black licorice, dried beef jerky, coffee. Very sensual mouthfeel. Time to drink this.
