Needed the perfect Yquem for seared fois gras, with warm orange compote as accompaniment. ‘97 Yquem Leander orange/tangerine more than apricot. Worked perfectly. Very steady and balance. Long golden length. Perfect.

Great experience, second best Yquem in the 90s, great acidity, honeysuckle, peach, full botrytis. I have only drunk 1990 which was ever so slightly better in the 90s. A privilege to drink and at a 180 euros a bottle it was a steal.
