Damn. This is great. Musty leaf litter, blackberry and grape jam, black currant leaf, salty, sweet perfume of cigar and leather and tobacco. At its peak. Brought this 375 back from France in my suitcase about 10 years ago. Patience pays.

Jun 12th, 2020Dried cherry and black cherry fruit with a hint of grape juice, along with wood and forest floor flavors. The earthy minerality is almost too much. The acidity seems a little harsh at times, the tannins moderate to subdued. This wine is good with food, I had it with a cheesesteak sandwich, but it does seem just a little off balance.

Jul 2nd, 2016Slate mineral nose with generally flat flavor profile. No big swings in the palate; overall dark fruit with vege/mushroom/dried leaf. Taste is quite round and finish smooth. Subtle fairly elegant wine. Missing a little fruit punch for my liking but still likable, especially for the price of 15€. 3 rd growth of chateau giscours
