Casis and currants on the nose, cocoa, raspberry & lemon zest tasting notes, with a pleasant sharp peppery finish. Purchased when tasting at the winery outside St Emilion.

2008 - eleven years. Time was not gracious for this wine. But, surprisingly, it was not cruel. On the palate, you can sense a sense of astringency. However it is balanced with sweet chocolate. In the nose you can smell smoke - but barely, maybe leather. Short finish. But what to expect from wine which has eleven years and cost about eleven euro? Needs decantation and about an hour of waiting. And when you drink it, you think: I regret that I was a few years late.
