I’m generally not loving the ‘02 Bordeaux from most appellations but this was showing quite well despite being a smidge too tannic for my tastes. Big and bold but lacking a sexy side.

On the fuller side of medium body, the black fruits are showing well and they are perfectly shrouded in a cloak of wet rock and lean oak treatment. A softy all the way through but it's elegance is what makes this wine a masterpiece. Delicate yet full of flavor and terroir. Enjoy!

Fantastic wine and just my style!

1hr+ decant, which was perfect. Dark red color with aging on the edges. Classic Bordeaux nose of cherries, earth, cigar box, and cedar. Dark cherries, smoke, and charred meat on the palate. Medium depth with some grittiness to it, and above average tannins. Medium plus finish. Loved it!

Would drink now as it’s slowly starting its decline.

2nd Cab flight, bottle 3. Another tightly wound wine that blossomed with air, but couldn’t outdo the ‘91 Montelena for me.
