Vintage 2001 / French bottling for Berger Roermond on 100% new oak barrels. There were times I thought: over-oaked. But nowadays I do like the truffle in smell, chocolate and especially the refinement. 18 years is a respectable age.

Feb 26th, 2019Vintage 2000 - cuvee Roel is a Dutch bottling of Roel Berger. Still has plenty of life in it, tannic structure has softened, fine vanilla expression, red fruit and characteristic Bordeaux. Nice!
