100% Cabernet Franc from Chinon FR, this wine immediately presents as herbaceous & rustic with aromas of dried herbs, roasted bell pepper and hints black pepper. The palate is light/med bodied with smooth tannins, and does add bit of fruit with flavors of raspberry sauce but still finishes with similar rustic overtones and an imbalanced sharp acidity. An imperfect but interest pairing with reverse seared Filet mignon with red wine sauce! [8/22/23] ($20)

Ruby red in color. Slow tears on glass. Light bodied. Medium low acidity. Low tannin. High alcohol warmth at back of throat. Long finish. Decanted about 30 minutes. Good fresh fruit taste and overall balanced except Alcohol is a bit strong. Maybe will mellow out with more time open.

I wouldn’t pour it out, but I wouldn’t order again. Not bad, but definitely nothing of note. Nose was minimal, flavor profile was flat.

Contrary to many reviews here, we had the pleasure of enjoying this bottle at a wine bar in Portsmouth, NH. First time experiencing a 100% can franc and we loved it as an easy drinking wine before dinner. Great price point at $15-20
