I bought this $8 bottle to cook with in a pinch, and after 20+ years of seeing it on NYC deli shelves, I finally tasted it. Not as bad as I was expecting. It’s not really wine, but sweet like a Riesling and tastes like a juice box. So put it in a different mental category before you get too snobby.

This is not wine - it's a "wine product." Wine is only one of its ingredients. That said, it's great if you want grape juice with a little alcohol.
