Réserve Côtes du Rhône Red Rhone Blend

Seemingly tired when first poured, this kept getting tighter and weightier in the decanter over the course of the evening. And the color got more vibrant too. After 2 hours, the nose showed pungent kirsch and sharp roasted herbs. Tight, crisp, intense flavors of spiced cherry and gravelly minerals. Long finish with a bit of tannin and crisp acids. This wine will last at least 5 years, maybe more, and continue to improve.

Quite good for a Tanglewood picnic. Quel surprise.

Perhaps my favorite CDr not cheap but can hold its own against higher priced chateau neuf du pape. Vibrant fruit,white pepper and structure
