Too old? Virtually no fruit, mostly leather, leaves, tobacco, and spice.

2011. Call it a fading 92+, with a plummy port-like viscosity and melting fruit and tannins. Real depth and earthy funk character but losing its edge; took many hours of decanting to liven up. Likely a very good bottle 3 years ago. $42 at Wine Traders.

Nice medium bodied wine with soft tannins. String raspberry with sweet finish and vanilla on the tongue. Very easy to drink. Paired with french beef stew.

Where's the #grenache? This wine tasted more of meat and spice, with very little fruit characteristics.

Bold, peppery Chateauneuf. Lively crimson juice. Cherry and strawberry at the nose. Soft and rounded invthe mouth. Still young but ready to drink as is. Balanced tannins, and with a 15% alcohol content and great acidity, should benefit from cellaring.
