Château de Respide
Reserve Graves Red Bordeaux Blend
2016 vintage. There is no mention of a "Reserve" wine on the website, so no idea if this is different from the regular Respide (60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon). Whatever it may be, this is very good value at less than 10 euro in this excellent vintage. Ripe black cherry fruit witthout jamminess, not very complex, but balanced and with more than decent length. Abv. 13%.

Oct 13th, 2015Easy sipping budget Bordeaux from the gravelly soil of Graves. Lighter weight, mostly Merlot, subdued tannins, tangy acidity, a melange of soft red fruit--hard to say which ones exactly, but they're the likable ones. :) This wine is like hallway art--doesn't command your attention, but makes the passing more pleasant.
